Was it just an off night for the mix?
I was looking forward to Asia, especially knowing that Billy Sherwood had taken over lead vocals and bass following John Wetton's recent passing. The audio mix for both bands was quite loud, distorting at times. Both Billy's vocals and Geoff Downes' keyboards were pretty lost in the mix, which is a shame since both are quite talented. Carl Palmer is still the absolute machine that he's always been - Stellar! Sam Coulson fills Steve Howes shoes quite capably.
Not as big of a Jammy Buffet - Tribute to Jimmy Buffet fan, but they're a class act. Arnel, the lead vocalist, has gobs of energy and a great voice, spot on to Steve P's. Schon is a legendary guitarist and rocks as hard as anyone. Ross Valory is a solid anchor on bass. I was quite surprised how Jonathon Cain is quite accomplished on keyboards. Steve Smith is a monster on drums.
